The globalized world where we live, allows and invites us more and more to explore it, to get to know and understand it through its geographic and cultural diversity. This is known by educational institutions around the world and that is why the tendency to provide students with real educational experiences in different parts of the world is growing.

For example, the students of the University of Ottawa who came last May to Brazil to an instructive and transformative trip with conferences, activities and visits planned around the topic of social inequality in Brazil.

They were 15 students who during two weeks were immersed in the different realities of Salvador, Itacaré / Serra Grande and Rio de Janeiro, discovering their examples of social organization, about which they could learn and reflect, as well as participating in interesting social and environmental projects and initiatives that arise as a consequence.

There were urban and rural adventures, conversations, theater presentations, visits to native and local communities, circus, percussion workshop, many professional talks and conversations with locals, walks, tours, city, jungle, beach and sea. A little of everything and in fact, enough of each thing so that this group of university students could return to the classroom with a completely new perspective on social development in Brazil and above all, a broader vision of human development at the global level.
