Easter Week is to for family travel… and Brazil has it all

Brazil has everything to offer your clients the best family trips for the Easter Holidays

I don’t know if it is necessary to mention that the geographic and thematic diversity that Brazil offers is infinite. Basically there is everything: beach, jungle, history, colonial towns, big cities, architecture, Afro culture, wildlife, party or calm, gastronomy, luxury, soft adventure or extreme sports, and much more; only if you are looking for snow and skiing, perhaps it is better to rethink the destination. But apart from that, whatever the interest of tourists, there is a high probability that in Brazil you can find it.

Today we want to talk about traveling families. Those that each year take a sacred time to share an adventure. Those who do, know how valuable it is and those who are thinking of doing it for the first time, are on the right track. Family trips are an incredible opportunity to strengthen bonds, get to know each other more, nurture relationships and increase the repertoire of memories, stories and internal jokes.

Easter week is an ideal time to plan family trips, as students have vacations, the weather in that season is ideal, especially in the southern hemisphere, and airlines and hotels take advantage to launch promotions. In addition, it is a break amidst the turmoil of the first half of the year, a getaway to be filled with energy and then return inspired. In 2020 the holidays begin on April 5 with Palm Sunday, starting Easter week and closing the following Easter Sunday or Monday depending on the region. Whether 4, 7 or 10 days of adventures, families can choose the trip that best suits their times and preferences.

Brazil is an ideal destination for family trips, not only because of the number of options, but because in most places it has excellent infrastructure and is prepared to receive children and young people of different ages. A curious detail is that Brazilians also love children and always give them attention and privileges; it is likely that without knowing them they will show sympathy in a restaurant, in the hotel or on the street. Foreigners who visit us perceive it immediately and are surprised, because there is no clear reason, simply youth and childhood are highly appreciated and welcome in this country.

So be prepared for next Easter because your clients could easily find what they are looking for in Brazil, and that is why we have some ideas of experiences that you can offer them. They are all trips that are concentrated in areas of Brazil so as not to waste time on internal flights and get to know these regions better on trips between 5 and 10 days.

Ouro Preto – Absorbing a true Historical Collage

The timeless colonial town of Ouro Preto showcases the very best of Brazilian Baroque architecture, historical fascination and quaint postcard images which seem to be around every corner! If the family likes history, cobbled streets and the charm that is only found in colonial towns, this is the perfect destination to enjoy together. They will walk through the cobbled alleys, visiting magnificent museums and large mansions that make them feel as if they had momentarily retreated in time, with a sense of history that fills the air so real that you can almost touch it. It is also worth taking the time to enjoy the impressive landscape of giant mountains and small neighboring towns that surround Ouro Preto, which allows them to fully appreciate why this place was and remains so popular.

Ilha Grande – Unlocking Brazil’s Garden of Eden

Few places can match the unspoilt beauty of Brazil’s Costa Verde, a stunning area of virgin rainforests, impossibly clear waters and towering mountains, all just a couple of hours’ drive from the buzz of Rio. Within this paradise lies Ilha Grande, a very well-protected and preserved national park, where dense jungle and white beaches are the order of the day, surrounded by seas so appealing and dense jungle so alive, that the whole region was named after them (‘The Green Coast’). Here, in this Garden of Eden, where vehicles are nowhere to be seen, the entire family will feel a deep connection with nature as they enjoy the various hiking trails that find their way around the immaculate island, reaching refreshing waterfalls and dreamy beaches; the perfect spot to cool off and soak in the pure beauty of this natural haven.

Chapada Diamantina – Cliftops, Canyons & Colonial Towns

This biodiverse expanse of rich wildlife and turquoise lagoons attracts visitors from far and wide just as it did during the height of the diamond trade, though for entirely different reasons, of course. By taking full advantage of the conservation and education programs which operate throughout the National Park, Visitors from all ages can thoroughly enjoy the all-too-enticing flooded caves, nature trails and waterfall plunge pools of Chapada, even more so while feeling like you are one of the region’s first pioneers every step along the way. Among Mother Earth’s many highlights on this tour, the creepy crags of Mosquito Waterfall and impossibly clear underground lake of Pozo Azul will be particularly unforgettable for the whole family!

Iguaçu Waterfalls – Discovering Phenomenons of Mother Earth

One of those destinations that everyone has to see at least once in their life, a natural phenomenon like no other that dazzles visitors of all ages. This monstrous spectacle is the result of hundreds of kilometers of gushing streams making their way westwards from the Atlantic Ocean, in the form of the Iguaçu River, before they finally crash over cliff edges of up to 80m in height! This is without doubt a display of nature at its most powerful and unforgiving. Nothing can capture its energy, no words or photographs; it’s only when you see Iguaçu for yourself that you understand its ferocity. That’s precisely what we’ll do on this tour, starting by zipping through the lush jungle on our bicycles, breathing in the crisp, clean air as we take in the sights and sounds of the beautiful, surrounding tropical rainforest. We’ll then take to the walkways which lead us to the spectacular waterfalls themselves, an adrenaline-packed otherworldly sight complete with plunge pool spray covering our skin while there! As the thundering roar of Iguaçu Falls fills the air, you will realize that this isn’t just a feast for the eyes. In one go, all family members can remove the Iguaçu Falls from their to do list.
