Little ‘Jeri’ was once an unknown fishing village, with only the local fishermen and their families benefiting from the beauty of these dunes, palms and crystalline seas.

Modern-day Jeri is a different story, with boutique craft shops, locally inspired restaurants and welcoming pousadas adding to its natural appeal. So, it is in one of these intimate, family-run pousadas where we will look to reside, supporting the community while also being treated to their famous hospitality. The only way to make the most of Jericoacoara’s many lagoons, sandy lookout points and rocky outcrops is with a magical 4 x 4 drive around this coastal paradise, being sure to stop at a suitably stunning viewpoint to watch a sunset over the dunes like no other, so cameras at the ready!

The Brazilian Ministry of Health recommends that travelers ensure routine immunizations are up to date, particularly for yellow fever, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, and hepatitis A. The yellow fever vaccine is highly recommended if visiting rural, forested, or Amazonian regions such as Amazonas, Acre, Pará, or the Pantanal.
